Sandwell Parents for Disabled Children (SPDC) seeks to ensure that all disabled children, young people and their families shall have access to a range of positive play and leisure opportunities enabling them to be safe, healthy and happy and that focus on enjoyment and achievement.

Do You Need Help?

SPDC believe that the family that plays together, stays together. If you are a family with a disabled child living in Sandwell, you can register your interest here.

What do SPDC offer

SPDC provides a range of activities to suit all tastes and abilities.

Family Club

Family Club offers a vast range of sporting, active and creative opportunities. Each week families have the chance to take part in sports such as basketball, rugby, hockey, badminton, table tennis and dodgeball as well as active pursuits such as yoga, dance, circus skills and even go-carting. Creative opportunities included weekly sensory activities, crafting, gardening and baking challenges.

In addition to the indoor sessions, Family Club can also take place at different outdoor venues such as Sycamore Adventure Centre, Forge Mill Farm and Sandwell Valley, each of which enable families to take part in different experiences including outdoor fitness sessions and outdoor cooking.

Children's Activities Short Breaks Programme

SPDC continue to offer short breaks via their family project, which consists of a weekly, term time Family Club, holiday and weekend activities, together with our age-related short breaks activities which operate during the school holidays. Click here for more information.

Parent Carers Activities

SPDC like to see parent carers having a break. They provide short sessions such as advice & well-being sessions, social events, pamper treatments and craft activities. They are also able to offer individualised support to help with any challenges you may have in your caring role or life in general. These usually happen whilst your children are engaged in activities or during school hours. Click here for more information.
